Grant Broadcasters new Group GM Commercial Digital

Bianca Shugg has been appointed to the position of Group General Manager Commercial Digital at regional radio owner Grant Broadcasters.
 
Bianca will be responsible for developing and driving the digital strategy that leverages the Sparx Digital team, existing digital assets and any new platforms with radio advertising at Grant Broadcasters.
 

Xtra Insights gets to a century of surveys

With the results from the latest Warragul and Geelong regional radio audience measurement surveys (RRAMS) released last week, Xtra Insights has celebrated the 100th RRAMS to be released since the methodology was launched in 2014.
 
In that time 47 regional radio markets have been surveyed under the new methodology, with 87,000+ interviews conducted representing over 5.7 million regional Australians aged 10+.

Entry submissions for Boomtown’s $1 million regional advertising competition closed this week having attracted entries from major brands looking to reach regional Australians.

Boomtown, Australia’s regional media collective, has announced a massive trade marketing competition, offering $1 million in regional advertising to one national agency or brand in Australia.
 
The competition is calling on submissions for a media strategy that speaks to 8.8 million regional Australians, and catches the eye of the Boomtown judges, Southern Cross Austereo, WIN Network, Prime Media Group, Australian Community Media, Imparja, Grand Broadcasters and News Corp Australia.
 

AFTRS & iHeart Radio launch 2RS

AFTRS Graduate Diploma of Radio students have launched their second pop-up station of the year, 2RS, The Ultimate 80s to Now station streaming online and on iHeartRadio nationally.
 
2RS stands for Regional Simulation and the station, that is live for two weeks, mirrors successful regional formats, and is focused on three regions Wollongong, Muswellbrook and Nowra.

Commercial radio stations in Darwin now broadcasting permanently in digital with DAB+

Listeners in Darwin can now tune in to commercial radio in digital quality sound, with the official switch on today of permanent digital radio broadcasts on DAB+.
 
Digital radio offers better sound quality and more station choice, with three extra DAB+ only commercial stations on air, KIX Country Music, Classic Rock Digital and 4TAB.
 

Random 30 gets Aced

The Random 30, Grant Broadcasters’ highly successful networked night show has added another eight stations from the ACE Radio Network, taking the tally to 26 regional stations Australia-wide.
 
The new stations from The ACE Radio Network include Edge FM, Coast FM, TRFM and four under the MixxFM brand.
