SCA and LiSTNR take on a new partnership with the BBC

SCA will partner with the BBC, to make its most popular titles and content by globally known personalities available on LiSTNR from 23 June 2021.
 
The partnership is also the first time the majority of the BBC content selected by SCA will be available in Australia.

SCA and SKY have a new multi year deal

Sky News Australia and Southern Cross Austereo have announced a new multi-year free-to-air program supply agreement to broadcast Sky News content across SCA’s largest regional markets on a new dedicated 24-hour news channel.
 
Launching on Sunday 1 August, Sky News Regional will broadcast on Channel 56 in 17 of SCA’s regional markets across Victoria, Southern NSW and Queensland including Cairns, Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Wollongong, Wagga Wagga, Orange, Bendigo, and Ballarat.
 

SCA dividends to recommence in FY21 as finances continue to improve

SCA has begun a trade marketing campaign for its recently launched LiSTNR app.

At a function last night in Sydney, CEO Grant Blackley said the new app “solves the problem of having to use multiple apps for audio consumption.”

LiSTNR brings audiences music, live radio and podcasts on the one app, putting it into the market with iHeartRadio and ahead of the ABC’s Listener app, which delivers live radio and podcasts but does not have music channels beyond its broadcast offerings such as Jazz, Country, Double J and Classic.

CRA appoints Jo Dick to newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer

Commercial Radio Australia have announced the appointment of Jo Dick as Chief Commercial Officer, commencing on 17 May.
 
The newly created role, reporting to the CEO, will be responsible for further developing and expanding the industry’s commercial strategy to ensure radio, and its rapidly expanding digital audio ecosystem, is top of mind with key buyers and advertisers and to identify opportunities for radio in the growing audio landscape.
