Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt from Gold FM’s Richard, Bridge and Spida Breakfast Show has taken to the streets of the Gold and Tweed Coasts riding a Pedicab in a bid to raise money for the children’s wards of local Gold and Tweed Hospitals for SCA's national charity, Give Me 5 for Kids.
Spida will be on the roads each day from 8am covering all ends of the Gold and Tweed Coasts from suburbs A-Z.  He will be visiting local workplaces to collect donations, with all funds going to the appeal.

Gold FM surges ahead in Gold Coast survey

The first Gold Coast survey for 2014 has been released, with Gold consolidating its lead, Hot Tomato moving into second place and Sea FM dropping to third.

The survey was conducted for CRA between Sunday Jan 19 - Saturday Apr 12, and is the first Gold Coast survey using the new provider GfK.

First placed Gold FM jumped 2.0 share points to 17.1%.

Despite a drop, Hot Tomato moved into second place as Sea FM fell to third.

Hot Tomato lost 1.1 share points to 12.3% and Sea FM fell 3.6 share points to 10.9%.

WSFM and GOLD take on fresh classic hits to make Pure Gold

ARN has ramped up its efforts to engage Gen X in a rebrand of Classic Hits WSFM and GOLD.
Te stations will now become the Classic Hits Pure Gold Network and expand their playlists to include music from Robbie Williams to Fleetwood Mac, No Doubt to ACDC, and INXS to U2.
A marketing campaign for the rebrand begins immediately on-air and via outdoor advertising, while a digital launch and TV campaign for WSFM begins Monday 28 April.

SCA regional stations continue streaming... sort of

Southern Cross Austereo has found a loophole in the PPCA streaming dispute.
With such a large network, SCA has the ability to leverage its metro streams across its more than 70 regional stations, so that regional listeners can at least hear some content on the regional station streams.
