Dee Dee Dunleavy will host 3AW Afternoons

Melbourne identity Dee Dee Dunleavy will host 3AW Afternoons in 2020.
Dee Dee has been a fixture on Melbourne’s radio airwaves for more than 30 years and moves into the slot vacated by Denis Walter, who will present 3AW Nights next year.
The queen of Melbourne radio, Dee Dee was part of the groundbreaking Fox FM Morning Crew in the1980s, moved to the breakfast show on Gold FM in 2000, and currently co-hosts The Weekend Break on 3AW.

2GO is gone, along with Sea FM and Gold FM

Southern Cross Austereo’s Central Coast stations, 2GO and Sea FM, and the Gold Coast’s Gold FM, officially rebrand today, Friday November 8.
Last month, it was announced that SCA would continue the rollout of its rebrand strategy with Gold 92.5 becoming Goldie’s 92.5 Triple M and 107.7 2GO becoming Central Coast’s 107.7 Triple M and the Central Coast’s 101.3 Sea FM rebranding to Central Coast’s Hit101.3.

Former Gold FM breakfast presenter Jo Stanley spoke at RadioDays Europe about personal branding for radio personalities.
“In my early years at Fox FM the marketing department had one of those meetings and told me my personal brand was ‘pretty, witty, fashionista.’
“I had an ah-ha moment. How did those people get the idea that was me. It wasn’t me, but I didn't take the trouble to define myself, so someone defined my brand for me… I learnt not to let that happen again.”

Good gains for Sea FM, Hot Tomato retains lead in Gold Coast radio survey

Hot Tomato has retained its lead in the latest Gold Coast survey, despite a drop of 1.3 share points to 17.1%.

Sea FM gained 2.2 share points to move into second place on 13.4%, ahead of sister station Gold FM, which dropped 1.1 to 10.9%.

Triple J was in fourth place on 6.6%, down 0.4, while Local ABC station ABC91.7, in fifth place, lost 1.1 to 4.8%.

Hot Tomato won breakfast, followed by a resurgent Sea FM, which is closing the gap on the top station.

Hot Tomato won all other dayparts and weekends.

A battle of the radio jocks took place on the Gold Coast on the weekend with rugby league player-turned-Sea FM announcer Ben Hannant taking on former AFL star-turned-Gold FM announcer Spida Everitt in the Gold Coast Airport marathon
Over 27,000 entrants took part in this year's event and both radio stations broadcast live from the event day, including live crosses with the boys as they ran.

Hot Tomato back to number one on the Gold Coast

GfK Survey 3 results have been released for the Gold Coast and Hot Tomato was the big winner bouncing back after losing its mantle as the Gold Coast's number one radio station all people 10+ earlier in the year.

It's the station listened to most with a 13.9% share all people 10+ a gain of 1.9% from Survey 2.

Gold FM was second with a 13.4% share and Sea FM third with 12.8%.

Bridge and Spida sleep over with the Mayor

Gold FM’s Bridge & Spida have been granted unprecedented access to the Tate’s residence as they slept over at the Mayor’s house last night.

The night kicked off with a roast dinner cooked by Ruth, the Mayor’s wife, and also included a game of ‘The Snoop Wheel’, where Bridge & Spida spun a wheel to see where they could snoop in the Mayor’s house plus a game of Perfect Partners with Tom and Ruth.
