When 60 year old Deborah Levy got behind the wheel of her ageing Mitsubishi Starwagon in February last year, she had no intention of causing anyone harm. She certainly didn’t expect to run into Glenn Wheeler on his motor scooter and put the 2GB and Channel Seven presenter in hospital for almost a year. The damage the incident caused to his brain has almost certainly ended the 54 year old’s career.

After 321 days in hospital following a road accident, Glenn Wheeler was finally discharged today for good.

His son Dane posted on facebook:

"It was an amazing moment and we are thrilled to have him home - he is absolutely pumped!

"Here's to further progress and better health mate.

"Thank you to everybody at both St George Hospital and Liverpool Brain Injury Unit - you saved his life and have given him a second chance."

Big money raised at fundraiser for Glenn Wheeler

More than 750 people attended 2GB's Glenn Wheeler Fundraiser Lunch on Monday 2 November 2015 at Doltone House Sydney, raising an impressive $100,000.

The event was Wheeler’s first public appearance since his scooter accident in February.

 
Ben Fordham worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise the day and he was a fantastic MC.

Glenn Wheeler's road to recovery

He spent a month in a coma after being left with bleeding on the brain and a severed leg artery when hit by a van while riding a scooter in Sydney on January 31 two years ago.

But radio and television personality Glenn Wheeler has made his first steps back into the spotlight, appearing this morning on The Morning Show to speak about his road to recovery.
 
Hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies visited him to film the segment with Emdur saying on Instagram “He can still hug like a bear”.
 

Glenn Wheeler wakes from coma, begins long road to recovery

2GB's Glenn Wheeler, who was injured in a road accident last month, has woken from his induced coma and begun the first steps in a long road to recovery.

A statement from his family says Glenn "woke from a coma over the weekend and he is in the very early and delicate stages of resting his brain and other injuries."
