Glenn Shorrock performs at Triple M Brisbane’s 25th birthday celebrations

Glenn Shorrock has performed at Triple M’s 25th birthday celebrations today at the station’s Brisbane studios. He joined Screaming Jets and The Choirboys in a major birthday event in the station’s car park on the banks of the Brisbane River.

Shorrock’s performance has an added historical significance. Shorrock was the original voice of the Little River Band – who were the first artist played when 4MMM-FM commenced commercial broadcast. LRB’s “Cool Change” went to air as the first song for the station on 22 August 1980.

Triple M Brisbane played host to over 500 people at the station which included listeners, clients and original 4MMM-FM staff members.

Original Triple M staff including Jeff Truscott (promotions), Ted Seymour (Station Manager), Marty Turpin and Judy Gray (mid-dawns) were among the guests.

As 4MMM-FM, it was Brisbane’s undisputed ratings leader, re-branding to FM104 in 1982 and eventually to Triple M in 1993. In 2005 Triple M remains Brisbane’s number one radio station.
