Martin Molloy inducted into the NFSA Sounds of Australia

Each year the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) recognises ten sound recordings for their defining impact on Australian culture and history by including them in the Sounds of Australia registry.

This year radio’s Martin/Molloy and ABC Radio recordings of the 1956 Olympic Games have been included.

Over two years ago Melbourne’s number one FM breakfast show, Fifi, Fev & Byron, created a segment,Tradie-oke, that gave the tradies of Melbourne a chance to belt out their favourite songs live on the radio.
Tradie-oke resonated across the suburbs of Melbourne and the segment morphed in to mega experiences ‘Tradieoke: Live from the Fox World Famous Rooftop’ and ‘The Real SlimTradie’, where the winner performed in front of 50,000 punters at Marvel Stadium for RNB Friday’s Live.

In its second week on air, Mark Ronson & Miley Cyrus’ new collaboration ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ rose 19 places to No.11 thanks to airplay across 19 stations with Hit105 Brisbane out in front with 39 spins, followed by Beats1 and Fox Melbourne, each with 37 plays.
KRock Geelong added the track to rotation this week, spinning it 16 times, a sizeable jump from no plays the previous week.

Fox has a Hit at the Australian Open

Hit 101.9 Fox FM has been broadcasting extensively from the Australian Open over the last two weeks, with coverage continuing during this closing weekend. 

The station has been broadcasting OB’s Monday to Friday, 9am until 4pm from the Fox OB site where spectators could watch Aaron Rich and Keegan Bakker broadcast live.

The tent was decked out in the new Hit colours and includes table tennis tables, benches and a nail art station for fans to escape the heat, glam up and get some tennis action of their own.
