Jon Blake returns home to FIVEaa Monday

FIVEaa will welcome home Jon Blake from Monday with his own one-hour weeknights from 7pm to 8pm.

He will also be heard in Breakfast with David and Will weekdays from 6am to 9am.

Jon, fondly known to all as ‘Blakey’, said “I’m really excited to get back to broadcasting on FIVEaa and especially to having the opportunity to have an hour to myself to be able to create radio that I want to create.”

FIVEaa's Drive Sports Show with Stephen ‘Rowey’ Rowe and Mark ‘Bicks’ Bickley will return to weekdays from 3pm to 6pm on 23 January.

FIVEaa has also announced Crocmedia will broadcast an hour long program hosted by Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes and Crows icon Ben Hart following the Drive Sports Show.

Filling the gap on Christmas Day

It’s not often you can say you spent Christmas Day in a radio station unless you’re pulling a shift.

However, four listeners to Adelaide’s FIVEaa, did exactly that.

When I realised I was rostered on for Christmas Day from 1pm until 4 and would miss lunch with my husband and his family, I invited four people into the studio who would be otherwise spending the day alone to join me and my producer Josh Sampson for lunch.

Jeremy Cordeaux to stay at FIVEaa as colleague battles cancer

After last week announcing his intention to depart FIVEaa, Jeremy Cordeaux told listeners today that he would be staying.

Jeremy revealed he will take over FIVEaa’s nights program, 8pm-12am, currently hosted by Alan Hickey who will step back as he battles cancer.

Australian radio hall of famer Jeremy Cordeaux told FIVEaa afternoons listeners on Friday that he would be leaving the station.

“Let me tell you about something important…” Jeremy said.

“The radio station here, FIVEaa and I, have decided to part company. And let me tell you right up front: no bad feelings, no bad blood -- we go on the best of terms.

“I’ve been in this business 50 years now, and these people here are the best you could find.

Adelaide Broadcaster Bob Francis has died suddenly but peacefully at his home, aged 77.

In a statement, his wife of 12 years, Anna, said her marriage to Bob had been “a fabulous ride.”

FIVEaa secures footy broadcasts on the AM band

FIVEaa Adelaide has won the rights to continue to broadcast AFL matches until 2022 as part of a six-year partnership agreement.
AFL Chief Executive Officer Gillon McLachlan said FIVEaa was an integral part of AFL coverage with its commitment to the SA teams, and the wider AFL competition.
“FIVEaa lives and breathes AFL coverage and is a key partner for us in the future of AFL footy in South Australia,” Mr. McLachlan said.
