FIVEaa Radiothon set to raise funds for children’s charity

1395 FIVEaa holds its Radiothon for Variety for a fourth year.

From 7am until 6pm tomorrow, the FIVEaa announcers will be working towards raising much-needed funds for South Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged, or who have special needs.

Funds will go toward helping children like Abby (pictured) – a Wiggles-loving three-year-old – get life-saving treatment. Abby was born with cerebral palsy spastic diplegia, which affects her balance, strength and stamina.

Life changing Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy Surgery will permanently remove Abby’s spasticity, improve her mobility and prevent future deterioriation, but the cost of the surgery is more than $60,000.

The FIVEaa Radiothon will give people the opportunity to bid on items live on air, including an Australian Outdoor Living Swimming Pool package, worth more than $40,000, as well as an outdoor kitchen package.

Neil O’Reilly, NOVA Entertainment Adelaide General Manager says, ‘We’re thrilled and, once again, so very proud to be able to get behind such a wonderful initiative and support SA kids in need. Our whole team at FIVEaa gets right behind this event and Variety as an organisation.’
