EON Broadcasting's Sunshine Coast stations 92.7 MIX FM and 919 SEA FM have launched the upgrade of their online apps, with the inclusion of an Australian first for radio, with “MIX Mites” and “SEA Bites” using the social audio network “Soundmite.”
 

Both MIX Mites and SEA Bites will mean the audience can create 21 second audio “BiTES” and text from the embedded custom channel inside their station App.

EON Broadcasting has announced Ryan ‘Ryno’ Khay is moving to a new role and has accepted an appointment in Papua New Guinea.

After more than 4 years as the Content Director for EON Broadcasting on the Sunshine Coast, Ryno has accepted the role of Operations Manager & Program Director in commercial radio for RAIT 99.5 in Port Moresby.

Ryno lived in PNG for four years as a child with his family, and is looking forward to investing more time into his other passions of music production and song writing.

Peter Saxon speculates over who will buy MRN's surplus stations

A fascinating side issue that’s emerged from the merger of Fairfax Radio and Macquarie Radio Network is the announcement that they are going to sell off 2CH in Sydney and a number of stations in North Queensland; 4VL, Triple CCC FM, 4HI, 4ZR, 4LM, 4SB and Hot Country.

The QLD stations were collectively known as The Smart Radio Network before they were acquired by MRN from Brad Smart in 2011 for around $6 million.
