Eagle FM announcers sell stations newsreader on EBay

Two radio announcers from 935Eagle FM in Goulburn have created a great deal of media interest by placing a work collegue on Ebay.

What started as a practical joke, has turned into a humourous assualt upon reality TV shows.

Matthew Ambrose and Cameron Luke have created a myspace site and their slogan
‘Save The Entertainment Industry Vote NO Reality TV’
has created a buzz amongst the MySpace community.

Matt and Cam plan on using the money they raise on Ebay which currently sits at $360 from selling practical joker and work colleague John Barrington, to plaster their slogan upon hundreds of T-Shirts.

At this stage John Barrington, the station’s newsreader, is blissfully unaware of this situation (until he reads about it here on radioinfo).

The description on EBay reads:

What we are selling is our News reader John Barrington; with this purchase you will own him for one week.

He will teach you the skills required to be a radio news reader (Great for budding journalists).

He will teach you how to play guitar and sing (Perfect for future musicians). John is also a member of the famous band “Super Best Friends” (who were number one on the Triple J punk charts for two weeks), so with this purchase comes a free private concert redeemable within a twelve month period of purchase.

John will also teach you how to surf in the Goulburn Pool.

With the money raised Matt and Camm will fight against reality TV contestants taking opportunites away from trained and hard working battlers.

This truly is a great cause.
