Craig Bruce reveals the latest clues in the Today Network plan

Wednesday 29 October, 2014

When SCA’s Head of Content, Craig Bruce (CB) booked a call to radioinfo this afternoon, our money was on him announcing that Brisbane’s B105 would be rebranded hit105. “I love how, in this industry, rumours so quickly turn into fact,” says CB. “We’re nowhere near talking about a rebrand of Brisbane yet.”

Not that he would reveal anything before he was ready to, but everything that’s happened at the network over the past few weeks seems to point towards a rebrand in Brisbane and then… Sydney.

Triple M's James Brayshaw has told Craig Bruce what he considers the secret of Triple M's success in the latest SCA Engage video briefing.

"Chemistry" between an on air team is the most important thing, according to Brayshaw, who says "Triple M has always had big names [in sport], but just throwing people together doesn't work, you've got to want to spend time with them."

With the AFL Grand Final coming up this weekend, the show is likely to spike in the ratings next week due to its focus on sport.

Tuesday 26 August, 2014

It’s not often anyone gets to speak with the top two Content Heads at SCA in the same room at the same time. But in the aftermath of Survey 5, both Craig Bruce and Guy Dobson were keen to talk up their networks’ achievements.

By the time their tag team is finished with you, you will believe that even the 3.8 result posted by 2Day-FM is pretty good.

The secret to a successful breakfast show is to connect with your on air partner as well as your audience, and make compelling content, according to Fifi Box.

She should know.  Her Fox FM breakfast show is the "most successful FM breakfast show in Australia."

Talking to SCA's Craig Bruce in the regular SCA Insights series, which is usually released before each ratings day, Fifi Box said:

Last month Craig Bruce was part of the Hivio audio future festival, discussing how to make great audio entertainment and developing and nurturing talent.

Why are Triple M fans so loyal? Craig Bruce and Mike Fitzpatrick

Friday 04 July, 2014
They wish they knew, because then they could do the same on all the SCA brands.

One thing Craig Bruce and Mike Fitzpatrick do know about Triple M listeners is that they tell them what they need from the station, and Austereo's top programmers listen to their "amazing brand ambassadors."

"One in every three men in Australia love us and listen to our radio station," said Fitzpatrick. There is a high demand for advertising on the network and the pair are confidient of good results in survey 4.

Four stations share a 6.9 share

Peter Saxon gathers the thoughts of Duncan Campbell, Paul Jackson and Craig Bruce.

It’s a curious thing. Up until now, Sydney was the frontline of radio wars in Australia. Not that it’s without some skirmishes. But following the major upheaval of Kyle and Jackie O defecting to KIIS it all seems to have settled down. K & J have taken most of it’s listeners with them from 2Day-FM TO KIIS, leaving the former with the audience share that Mix 106.5 used to have – which is not much.
