The AFTRS Radio Content and Program Directors Course is open for enrolments.

The newly updated course written by Craig Bruce - Former Head of Content at Southern Cross Austereo and Fyona Smith at AFTRS is designed to develop students’ programming, management and leadership skills to a professional standard.

It provides an understanding of the elements involved in radio programming and requires participants to identify and apply skills and knowledge within a workplace context.

Southern Cross Austereo's Head of Content Craig Bruce has left the building.

It all started for Craig Bruce at FOX in 1988. In 2005 he became anchor for the Breakfast show with James Brayshaw, Marty Sheargold and Amanda Blair.

But his real worth was in Content.

Among the speakers, ARN’s Duncan Campbell has spoken about the strategies for success in radio and SCA’s Head of Content Craig Bruce said: “if you want to be great at anything, you have to want to pay the price."
 
In a session about being creative, Bill Bailey asked: "What am I saying? How am I going to say it?"

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the most listened to station in Australia is 3AW with its massive 15.4 of the Melbourne market. Yet, if you take the word of Nova Entertainment’s Paul Jackson then the leading station is NOVA 969 in Sydney. According to him It has more listeners than any other station in the country. Not only that, he says, “NOVA 100 (in Melbourne) is the second most listened to station in Australia.”

Brisbane's new hit105 launches

As expected B105 has this morning come into line with SCA’s Today Network dropping its heritage branding and launching as hit105.

The move follows B105 recently marking its 25th Birthday with a reunion and a facebook page full of memories.
