ABC Voter Score Card campaign rolls out as voters consider their election choices

The community and public sector union (CPSU) has begun a campaign urging voters to consider party positions on the national broadcaster in their electoral choice on May 18.

A broad group of community organisations has protested outside the ABC studios in Sydney today as the ABC board met.
The groups are concerned the ABC is failing to meet its charter obligations and senior management is genuinely not listening to staff or responding to the needs of its audience.

ABC staff pass no confidence motion in management

ABC RN staff have moved a no-confidence motion against radio management over recent radio division cuts.

More than 60 Radio National staff met at the broadcaster's Ultimo office today.

The CPSU has confirmed to radioinfo that staff unanimously passed a motion of no confidence, citing " systemic failure" in senior radio management and "the erosion of the editorial and managerial responsibilities of executive producers."

New campaign launched to save the ABC

The Community and Public Sector Union is urging the Federal Government to restore ABC funding to an acceptable level so the broadcaster can properly serve the Australian community.

According to the CPSU, lost services from recent Government cuts include a reduction in the number of live recordings by Classic FM and the axing of morning programs on all ABC regional radio stations.
