Edge Digital is a clear leader in Sydney's DAB+ stations

Edge Digital is the clear leader in Sydney with 123,000 listeners, leading ABC Jazz (97,000) and KIIS 90’s 81,000.
 
In Melbourne Coles Radio remains at the top with 85,000 listeners, ahead of Gold 80’s (70,000) and The Fox OldSkool (65,000)
 

Coles leads DAB+ Advertisers: AirCheck Report

AirCheck Australia has taken a look at the top advertisers on DAB+ radio, and comparing the top advertisers on Digital Radio in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide & Perth, Coles was out in front with the help from Coles Radio in each city.

Combining the 5 cities, a total of 15,824 spots were placed on digital radio alone.

Coles Radio still leads digital but ABC Jazz makes a big move

Coles Radio still leads digital nationally with 255,000, but ABC Jazz has had a huge jump picking up 37,000 listeners nationally to move into second place with 220,000 listeners in Survey 6.

The Triple M stable of digital stations, Country, Classic Rock, Greatest Hits and Aussie have a combined national audience of 278,000 listeners.

Coles tops the DAB+ brands

This week AirCheck Australia has compared the Top 10 DAB+ Radio Brands in Sydney and Perth.

Coles took out the top spot in both cities due to the overwhelming number of spots on Coles Radio, however there were 174 more spots placed in Perth.

In Sydney, OnDeck was in second place running ran less than half the spots than Coles followed by Vodafone airing 1,460 advertisements.

In Perth, Harvey Norman was in the No.2 spot with 2,334 ads, followed by Booking.com with 1,510 instances.

Coles Radio retains the top spot on the DAB+ survey with 270,000 listeners Australia wide.
 
Re-badging iHeart 80’s and iHeart 90’s stations to reflect the local markets has had mixed results with KIIS 90s and WSFM 80s both gaining audience in Sydney, while Mix 80s and Mix 90s both eased slightly in Adelaide.
 

AirCheck adds 51 DAB+ stations to their monitoring network

AirCheck, the leader in broadcast monitoring, announced today that it will begin monitoring 51 DAB+ stations across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Beginning with Perth, 51 DAB+ stations will be added in addition to the 58 FM and AM stations already monitored nationwide. The process is expected to be completed by the end of October.

This brings the total number of radio stations monitored to 109, in addition to 11 Free-To-Air and Music TV channels in Sydney and Brisbane.

Commercial radio in Canberra goes digital

  The Edge Digital – urban R&BCommercial radio will officially switch on DAB+ digital radio broadcasts in Canberra tomorrow providing digital quality sound and more station choice for listeners in the capital.
 
All four commercial radio stations, 2CA, 2CC, Mix 106.3 and Hit 104.7 will broadcast in digital, alongside several commercial digital-only stations, with more new stations to launch in coming months.

Little change in the top stations as Coles Radio continues to lead nationally in the digital market with 245,000 listeners in front of Double J with 219,000.
 
The Triple M brands of Aussie, Classic Rock, Country and Greatest Hits have a combined audience of 306,000, while iHeart 80’s and iHeart 90’s combine for 311,000.
 

The Edge retains its edge in Sydney

The Edge Digital remains at the top of the Sydney market despite dropping 14,000 listeners in the second survey of the year.
 
The Edge (84,000) leads MMM Greatest Hits (70,000), Coles Radio (64,000) and Urban Hits (61,000).
 
MMM Classic Rock shed almost half it’s audience, down 45,000 to 49,000 listeners.
 

Big swings for Sydney digital and ABC Jazz is now on top

Big swings continue to dominate Sydney audiences listening via DAB+ or Internet, Mon-Sun 5.30am-12midnight.
 
In Sydney Edge Digital and Coles Radio both lost audience with ABC Jazz on top with 114,000 followed by Edge on 82,000.
 
iHeart 90’s halved its audience numbers, down by 24,000 to 28,000.
 
Overall in Sydney the 25-39 numbers were down by 36,000.
