Clive Dickens is leaving SCA and will move to Seven West Media next year.

Dickens will transition out of his role as the Director of Digital and Innovation at SCA at a date in 2015 yet to be determined.

He will assume the position of Chief Digital Officer at Seven West Media, reporting to CEO Tim Worner.

Off the back of Southern Cross Austereo’s epic live audio stream of Coldplay’s sold-out Enmore Theatre gig in Sydney, SCA has now secured the exclusive rights to deliver the performance ‘on-demand’ across its digital assets. 

Radio networks top list of mobile optimised publishers in Australia

On a list compiled by Nielsen of Australia’s Top 30 mobile optimised publishers, FM radio networks take out three of the four top places with only Mamamia spoiling a clean sweep by coming in second behind SCA.

ARN is listed at number three followed by Nova Entertainment at four. Radio easily beats the mobile sites of online giants Optus, Yahoo 7 and NINEMSN.

SCA recently announced a shareholding in Omny, an app developed in Australia that has the potential to be a global player in the new Radio paradigm. Unlike Pandora or Spotify, Omny has the ability not just to play the music you want but to aggregate content from actual stations such as Triple M, triple j, FIVEaa or any others you care to add to your listening schedule.

In releasing SCA’s soaring year on year growth on all digital platforms last week, Director of Digital and Innovation, Clive Dickens, told us that Kyle and Jackie O’s digital strength revolved mainly around video of their guests. As an example, he cited a video of Katie Perry as being a huge success based largely on Katie Perry’s appeal. “But in terms of being a contributor to our overall numbers they (K&J) were a modest contributor,” says Dickens.

Southern Cross Austereo held its 2014 client and agency function at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, emphasising how the company's talent will engage with clients in a deeper way than ever before.

"We now have a roster of talent who are used to working with clients... they know how to put the commercial in commercial radio," said National Sales Director Andrea Ingham.
