CHYFM unveils a new website

104.1 CHY FM has an entirely new look and a great new website aimed at reflecting the vibrant and fresh energy of the Coffs Coast youth community radio station.
Station Manager Angie Vaughan, says, “Local marketing designer, James Hewitt of Toast Industries has taken his extensive expertise working with local, national and international brands and given 104.1 CHY FM a brilliant new logo and stylised graphics that genuinely encapsulates who we are, where we are and what we do.”

Matt DeGroot, breakfast newsreader of the Fitzy & Wippa program on Sydney’s NOVA 96.9  has been appointed as station Patron for 104.1 CHY FM.

Local news service for CHY FM begins on Monday

Starting Monday 7 December, 104.1 CHY FM will launch a local new service in Coffs Harbour.
Station Manager, Angie Vaughan says, “With the local commercial radio and the ABC station now taking their news bulletins from Sydney and/or Brisbane, 104.1 CHY FM saw the need to supply our local area with news and information essential and pertinent to where we live. And it’s also great information for holidaymakers that want to know what’s going on right where they are.”

More accolades for Speaking Lingo presenter

Congratulations local Gumbaynggirr man, Speaking Hour Lingo program presenter and Operations Manager at the Coffs and District Land Council, Lockie Skinner, for being nominated for 7News Young Achievers Awards - Indigenous Achievement and the AbSec Young Person of the Year Award.
Earlier this year, Lockie was nominated for the prestigious Grace Roberts Community Development Award, the youngest ever nominee.

Local Gumbaynggirr man, presenter of the Speaking Hour Lingo program on 104.1 CHY FM, Lockie Skinner, has been nominated for the prestigious Grace Roberts Community Development Award in Coffs Harbour.
Grace Roberts was a local Aboriginal woman who history records as being a positive role model for her people and a person of great substance who had a positive and lasting impact on the Coffs Harbour community and is recognised for her leadership and guidance.

CHY FM celebrates NAIDOC week

NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and in keeping with the celebrations, 104.1 CHY FM are presenting ‘Speaking Hour Lingo’ presented by Local Gumbaynggirr Man, Lockie Skinner.
Speaking Hour Lingo will be on 104.1 CHY FM, Monday to Friday for two weeks, starting Monday 1st July from 4 to 4.30pm with Lockie and his guests talking all things NAIDOC, including indigenous culture, music, events, ceremonies and exhibitions.
