BuzzFeed Australia will stand down its news division after its global parent company announced plans to focus its coverage on the US market.
The online media organisation said the closure, which affects five Australian staff, was based on "economic and strategic reasons".
BuzzFeed Australia currently employs about 25 staff across content and sales.
