Australia All Over raises $100,000 for drought relief

Two concerts held in Sydney and Melbourne, plus some very generous donations have
enabled the ABC’s top rating Australia All Over program and its host Ian McNamara (Macca) to present cheques for drought relief, to the value of $100,000 to the Bush Church Aid Society.

“I love making music and was encouraged by listeners and the ABC when I suggested a concert or two” said Macca. “I received great support from ABC management, my staff at Australia All Over and of course the listeners and the entertainment community. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to help others”.

The highlight of the concert for Macca was a duet with the great Don Burrows on A Town Like Alice.

AUSTRALIA ALL OVER is broadcast on ABC Local Radio every Sunday morning from 5.30am to 10am. Ian McNamara’s most recent CD release is Macca By Request.
