Asia Pop 40 to air across Taiwan

International Community Radio Taipei today confirmed that it’s English language CHR network ICRT FM100 will air the three-hour weekly-syndicated chart show Asia Pop 40 twice per week.

It will be hosted by Dom Lau and is is Asia’s first locally-produced chart countdown radio programme and also the first syndicated Asian-produced radio show.

ICRT FM100’s General Manager, Timothy Berge, commented, “We see the potential of Asia Pop 40 as a show that will be very liked by our audience. Across Taiwan, we have a significant younger audience and we believe Asia Pop 40 is an important development in localised Asian radio. We want to air a show that is more relevant for our listeners than the imported chart shows, and the ratings results in other markets prove that Asia Pop 40 has struck the right chord with Asian music lovers.”

Singapore’s EON Media Group produces Asia Pop 40. CEO and Executive Producer Rob Graham said, “We are thrilled that AP40 will soon be heard across Taiwan on ICRT. They saw the potential of Asia Pop 40 and appreciate AP40 being Asia’s very own home-grown regional chart show.”
