Sneaky 2Day hijacking our facebook: Kyle and Jackie

Sunday 12 January, 2014

"This is the new official Kyle and Jackie O Facebook page - sadly, our old one has been hijacked by 2DayFM and we are still fighting hard to get it back!" says the message on Kyle and Jackie's KIIS facebook page.

When they joined ARN, Austereo contended that their old facebook page was part of the property they created while working for Austereo, so, like their on air work, Austereo had the rights to keep it. This is comon legal practice in most employment agreements.

Kiss off ARN...

says Melbourne dance music narrowcaster Kiss.

The station has launched a campaign to raise funds for a legal fight to challenge the Australian Radio Network for trade mark breaches and 'passing off' a name that it has used for the past eight years.

Peter Saxon chats with the ARN boss.

The musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying debuted on Broadway in 1961, before Ciaran Davis was born. 6 jobs axed at ARN

Thursday 14 November, 2013

It’s not just on air changes that are happening around the industry.

There has been confirmation today that six off air roles have been made redundant across the ARN Network. The jobs are believed to be in sales. The changes are part of a wider restructure, which is expected to see other jobs created in restructured areas.

Information from the company has been limited, but an ARN spokesperson has told radioinfo:

The Party After the ACRAs

Monday 14 October, 2013

Peter Saxon crashes the ARN party

As the ACRAs has grown in excitement and prestige, the After Party event which has surfaced in its wake, is emerging as the ultimate definer of who’s hot and who’s not. Or who’s cool and who’s not. No one has yet been able to explain to me how these opposites can mean exactly the same thing. Merely winning an ACRA is no longer enough to catapult you from nerdy intern to radio star. You need to be seen at the right after party.
