iHeartRadio launches Shamrock station for St Patrick's Day

Following on from the recent launches of Warner Music, Hoyts, and Durex custom radio stations, the Australian Radio Network is undertaking another brand collaboration, this time with Tourism Ireland, and it’s digital music service iHeartRadio.

Kiss and KIIS to co-exist, as legal battle ends

Late last year radioinfo covered the ongoing legal battle between Kiss FM in Melbourne and the ARN's new KIIS FM in Sydney.

Today, ARN has released a statement confirming that the two stations have reached a mutual and confidential agreement and will both continue to broadcast under their respective names. No more information of the agreement is available at this point.

The Australian Radio Network has launched a new marketing campaign for Melbourne’s Mix 101.1 and Brisbane’s 97.3FM, with an outdoor campaign across both markets.

Central to the campaign for Mix101.1 is the new tagline 'Music That Moves You'. The network believes that the new tagline represents the 'energetic, fun and entertaining; breakfast with Chrissie and Jane on Mix 101.1.

APN News and Media Limited will acquire full ownership of Australian Radio Network and New Zealand's The Radio Network from U.S. joint venture partner Clear Channel Communications for $246.5 million.

The transaction will give APN 100% of "the largest network of radio stations in the trans-Tasman region."

Chrissie and Jane celebrate 400 shows

Melbourne breakfast radio hosts Chrissie Swan and Jane Hall have today celebrated their 400th show with Mix101.1.

Todd McKenney surprised the girls, popping into the studio to congratulate them on this radio milestone.

Monday marked the start of Chrissie and Jane's third year as hosts of Mix101.1's breakfast show.

Chrissie said: "400 shows? Really? I get up so early I can't really remember anything."

Jane added: "I never thought we would have made it this far."

ARN appoints Melbourne Agency Sales Director

Stephen Leeds is the new Melbourne Agency Sales Director for the ARN.

Stephen brings 20 years’ experience in the advertising, media, sales and communications fields, and joins ARN after 13 years with Network Ten. Stephen has held market and national sales positions in Melbourne, and most recently as the General Manager for Network Ten in the Brisbane market.

New sponsors for ARN's 3pm pickup

Chemist Warehouse and Nature’s Own are the new sponsors for ARN’s 3pm PickUp, hosted by Chrissie Swan and Jane Hall. The partnership will engage 3pm Pick up’s core female listeners, including many mums, who also form the key demographic for Nature’s Own.
The 3pm pickup can be heard on KIIS 1065 and the Mix FM network.

ARN's goal is to have the number 1 and 2 Sydney stations

Kyle told a gathering of clients and media this morning that he expects the new KIIS breakfast show to be number one FM by the end of one or two surveys. Earlier he put a number on what he hopes for in his first survey, 9%.
ARN CEO Ciaran Davis is “glad that Kyle has put that target on himself.”
Davis says ARN’s corporate strategy for 2014 is to have the number one and number two FM breakfast shows in Sydney by the end of the year.
