SCA appoints new director of digital sales and operations

Southern Cross Austereo has announced Steve Brown is its Director of Digital Sales and Operations, effective 27th August 2015. Mr Brown will take on the leadership role replacing James Bayes.

He’ll focus on growing digital sales, driving programmatic and supporting key partnerships

With an extensive media career, and over 10 years working across radio both in Australia with the Australian Radio Network and Nova Entertainment, and the United States with Clear Channel, Mr Brown has an all- inclusive understanding and passion for the value of digital in the media landscape. Having worked with some of the best on-air talent Australia has to offer, and leading brands and agencies, his commercial insight has pioneered solution development and cross platform sales over the last decade.

Mr Brown recently fronted the digital development with Australia’s largest media company, News Corp, growing traditional business through digital product development, client engagement and delivering commercial audiences by blending multimedia in solutions that deliver genuine ROI.

ARN stars show their support for Red Nose Day

It's Red Nose Day and many of the country's TV and radio personalities are getting behind the cause that supports the work of SIDS and Kids to save the lives of babies and support families through some tough times.

The ARN Sydney stations are all behind it with Jonesy & Amanda, Kyle & Jackie O and Mike E & Emma all donning noses for the day.

Michael Miller resigns, Ciaran Davis appointed CEO of APN

Michael Miller has resigned as CEO of APN to join News Limited as Executive Chairman.

Ciaran Davis will replace him as CEO of APN. A recruitment process is underway for a new CEO for the Australian Radio Network to replace Davis.

The changes will take place from September 1st.

radioInfo reported recently it appeared Southern Cross Austereo’s hit branding would be rolled out regionally sooner rather than later after a search of revealed new domain names for two of SCA’s bigger regional stations in Hobart and on the Gold Coast.

ARN expands KIIS network drive show

Australian Radio Network (ARN) has announced the KIIS Networks Drive Show, Hughesy & Kate, will be driving listeners home nationally with their addition on Perth’s 96FM from 4pm on June 22.

Today’s announcement comes hot on the heels of Hughesy & Kate taking out the #1FM* network drive position.

Studios on board with Wheatstone

Yesterday RCS and Wheatstone announced a partnership that combines their respective studio technologies and resources to deliver a seamless integration of radio playout and IP audio networking.
A few months ago, radioinfo reported on Sky Radio’s updated studios using Wheatstone technology but the company is also active across many Australian stations.

Survey 3 to be released this morning

The third survey of metro markets will be released tomorrow by GfK and all eyes will be on those stations involved in the Macquarie Radio and Fairfax Radio venture.

The spotlight will also be on Southern Cross Austereo  who will be looking for some upward movement within their HIT brand,  which was down to a 3.3 in Sydney and also shed audience in Melbourne.

ARN says goodbye to St Nick

Nick Condon is finishing up at ARN Sydney and moving permanently to Adelaide to take up a new job leading the South Australian Chamber of Commerce's digital and technology teams.

He has told radioinfo: "This is an excellent opportunity for me to diversify my digital knowledge, knowing digital is the future of everything."
