ARN expands KIIS network drive show

Australian Radio Network (ARN) has announced the KIIS Networks Drive Show, Hughesy & Kate, will be driving listeners home nationally with their addition on Perth’s 96FM from 4pm on June 22.

Today’s announcement comes hot on the heels of Hughesy & Kate taking out the #1FM* network drive position.

Studios on board with Wheatstone

Yesterday RCS and Wheatstone announced a partnership that combines their respective studio technologies and resources to deliver a seamless integration of radio playout and IP audio networking.
A few months ago, radioinfo reported on Sky Radio’s updated studios using Wheatstone technology but the company is also active across many Australian stations.

Survey 3 to be released this morning

The third survey of metro markets will be released tomorrow by GfK and all eyes will be on those stations involved in the Macquarie Radio and Fairfax Radio venture.

The spotlight will also be on Southern Cross Austereo  who will be looking for some upward movement within their HIT brand,  which was down to a 3.3 in Sydney and also shed audience in Melbourne.

ARN says goodbye to St Nick

Nick Condon is finishing up at ARN Sydney and moving permanently to Adelaide to take up a new job leading the South Australian Chamber of Commerce's digital and technology teams.

He has told radioinfo: "This is an excellent opportunity for me to diversify my digital knowledge, knowing digital is the future of everything."

APN revenues increase: market update

APN has updated the market on its latest trading results at an Investor Day held in Sydney today.

Year-to-date group revenues are 6% ahead 2014, with the key components of growth being increased NZME revenues and continued ARN growth. It is somewhat restrained due to decreased market conditions in Hong Kong, where group revenue has decreased 15% year-to-date.

Cost increases have been driven by ARN’s acquisition of 96FM Perth and investment into KIIS Melbourne, as well as integration costs at NZME.

ARN and Twitter unveil new Greenroom

APN News & Media’s AGM was held yesterday with the board announcing dividend payouts to shareholders will continue to be withheld until the company can get a better handle on its debt (see here).

Today, CEO Michael Miller and Jeff Howard gave a presentation to the Macquarie Australia Conference, outlining more of the company's plans for the year ahead.

Radio grows to almost half of APN’s earnings

APN, parent company of ARN, iHeartRadio and NZME, held its annual general meeting this morning, revealing a 25% increase in net profit after tax, driven heavily by its radio branches.

Radio nearly doubled its proportionate share of APN’s earnings in 2014 from 26% - 47%.
