Arabian Radio Network goes Filipino

The Arabian Radio Network has launched its ninth station. Called Tag91.1, it is the first truly multiplatform radio station targeting the Filipino community living in the UAE.

Broadcasting 24 hours a day on 91.1FM, online at Tag911.ae, and with dedicated iPhone, Android, Nokia and Blackberry apps, and a built-in player on all Samsung Smart TVs, “the station brings the best entertainment to life for the UAE’s growing Filipino population,” says Aussies expat and Network COO, Steve Smith.

ARN has seen huge demand from listeners and advertisers, who have already committed to long-term sponsorship contracts.

Over the last five years ARN has broadcast dedicated Filipino programming from midnight until 6am on Dubai Eye 103.8. With over 25,000 Facebook friends, ARN is responding to the huge demand from the Filipino community.

Tag91.1 plays the biggest original Filipino hits and broadcasts loud and clear across the UAE. Tag91.1 also broadcasts news in Tagalog so listeners can find out the latest updates on what’s happening across Dubai and the UAE, delivered by the ARN News Centre.

Mohamed Almulla, CEO of the Arab Media Group, parent company of the ARN commented: “In line with the UAE’s rapid economic growth, our audience and hence our portfolio continues to expand. ARN is the largest radio network in the Middle East region with eight radio stations targeting every major community in the UAE. ARN is a reflection of Dubai; we represent the cosmopolitan make up of the city. The launch of Tag91.1, our new Filipino entertainment radio station (our ninth radio station) will help us to engage in-depth with the 645,000 Filipinos in the UAE. The demand is clear from both listeners and advertisers alike, and we are confident of its commercial viability.”

ARN is committed to reaching out to the diverse population of the UAE and today broadcasts to over 190 nationalities. Tag91.1 is the first radio station to target Filipinos ever launched in the Arab world, underlining ARN’s position as a pioneering broadcaster.

Steve Smith said: “following a dedicated research process over a 3 year period, we have the launch of our latest 9th radio station Tag 91.1. ARN heavily invest in the digital platforms to ensure more listener interaction and this makes us the leading multi platform broadcaster in the region. Tag 91.1 will launch with a dedicated app developed across every major platform, broadcast on FM and stream online on the website. This makes Tag 91.1 the first radio brand to launch on seven platforms simultaneously.”
