Julia Gillard partners with Acast to promote her hit podcast

Acast has announced a global partnership with Julia Gillard’s A Podcast of One’s Own, helping expand the reach of the thought-provoking podcast that explores the topic of women in leadership.

Julia presents the podcast in her capacity as Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College London, and any future earnings from the podcast will go back into funding for the research institute, furthering the work they do to create a world in which being a woman is not a barrier to being a leader.

Nova launches a podcast to highlight Missing Persons Week

NOVA Entertainment will launch a new real-life podcast series, The Disappearance of Des, to coincide with the 40-year anniversary of one man’s disappearance, and to support and raise awareness for National Missing Persons Week, an event held in the first week of August each year.
The Disappearance of Des is the story of Desmond Francis Carr who drove a steamroller for the Main Roads Department, in an outback town, in Western Australia.

The Lady Vanishes prompts police to re-open investigation

7NEWS’ investigative journalism podcast, The Lady Vanishes, has prompted NSW police to reopen the investigation surrounding missing teacher, Marion Barter, who mysteriously vanished in 1997.
In what is seen as a vindication of the podcast’s investigation, police say they will reopen the investigation, refer the case to the Coroner and put Marion on the Australian National Missing Persons Register.

ACAST launches ACAST ACCESS for paywalled content distribution

Until recently, the vast majority of podcasters have monetised their content through ad revenue but Acast recognised a need to evolve support for both ad revenue and subscriber revenue while creating consumption flexibility for listeners.
