7am hits two milestones today

Schwartz Media’s daily news podcast, 7am, today celebrates its one-year anniversary with a new audience listenership milestone.
 
The podcast now reaches an average of 45,000 listens each day, or almost a quarter of a million listens weekly.
 
The year-old podcast, hosted by award-winning investigative journalist Ruby Jones, tells the news through in-depth, energetic interviews and sharp analysis, delivered to podcast feeds every weekday morning to help listeners start their day engaged and informed.

Fremantle Media enters the podcasting arena in partnership with Acast

Screen production company Fremantle Media has entered the audio space, teaming up with Acast to produce a range of scripted and unscripted content.

The first production, a true crime podcast called Chasing Charlie, will be released next week.

People are turning to podcasts for news and distraction: Acast

New worldwide listening figures from Acast have recorded the biggest weekend ever for the number of listens.
 
The weekend of March 21–22 saw a 7% increase in listens globally, equivalent to more than 750,000 listens, suggesting that, with the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, more people than ever before are turning to podcasts.

This number is reflected in Australian listens which saw a near five per cent increase over the same two-day period.
