ABC702 Australia Day outside broadcast

Next Monday 26 January, 702 ABC Sydney Mornings presenter Sally Loane will broadcast live from Hyde Park North opposite St Mary’s Cathedral in College St, between 9am and 12noon as part of 702 ABC Sydney’s Australia Day celebrations.

Loane’s program will be heard statewide and will include information on the Honours List Awards (see earlier radioinfo story on how to get them from this site).

The program will have 50 special brunch packs available for some lucky 702 listeners who answer a simple question related to ABC’s ‘Delicious’ magazine. Listeners are also encouraged to bring along their picnic rugs and brunch.

There will be free ABC tattoos, program guides and once the broadcast is over the ABC On the Road Show will be open to the public until 5pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to be the weather person for the camera or sing a song with Bob the Builder, Amica and other ABC stars, which will be recorded on a VHS tape that children can take home. Visitors can also surf the ABC Website and learn more about how ABC Radio works.

ABC for Kids will also be in Hyde Park with concerts on the main stage (on the Elizabeth Street side of Hyde Park) from 10.00am to 12.30pm.
