The full schedule for OzPod 2016, an invigorating and inspiring day for Australia’s podcast and radio industries, is now available.

OzPod host ABC Radio will welcome contributors and guests from the commercial, public, community, indie and wider audio sectors to a wide-ranging celebration of the podcast, exploring everything from audience acquisition and retention, approaches to measurement, new technologies, the rise of the podcast in traditional media, revenue opportunities and the art of storytelling.

Merryn Vincent returns to Australia

Merryn Vincent has joined ABC Radio in the new role of Head, Partnerships, Business and Operations. 
Merryn reports to Michael Mason, the ABC’s Director, Radio.

She will manage all aspects of ABC Radio’s budget, financial and operational planning, providing expert business advice and leading partnership activity for ABC Radio.

Merryn Vincent will implement Radio’s long-term funding plan, and drive key decisions around information and planning. 

No more Nightlife for Tony Delroy

After 26 years presenting ABC Local Radio’s successful Nightlife program, and more than 30 years at the ABC, Tony Delroy is hanging up the headphones to explore his passion for travel.

Delroy told his audience tonight: "An announcement I thought would never happen… I’m in the last few weeks here at Nightlife. I can hardly believe its been nearly 26 years since the show launched in a very humble way to just a few thousand listeners… We’ve come a long way baby.

Canberra’s Radio 1RPH is concerned for its future with a quarter of its budget, $38, 000 set to disappear when the ACT Government hands disability funding to the Commonwealth in July as part of the NDIS.
Radio 1RPH provides news and other information for the blind and people with other disabilities and has been running for the past 30 years.
It claims an estimated 10% of people in the Canberra Region (30,000) are print handicapped.
1RPH is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers with two paid employees.
