ABC Radio Sydney getting ready for their big move to Parramatta

Movement within radio is fairly common but Sydney is taking this to a whole new level in 2024.

KIIS 106.5 and WSFM have completed their moves from Macquarie Park to North Sydney and now the ABC have commenced packing ahead of their relocation from the inner city to Parramatta. Richard Glover is bringing only the Elvis essentials.

The new Parramatta studios, at 6-8 Parramatta Square, will house ABC radio, news and television staff with the hope that the move will be completed by August.

ABC Managing Director, David Anderson, said last year:

Establishing this new facility in Parramatta is a significant step in meeting our commitment to be more local and engaged with the community and less centralised in the Sydney CBD.

“As a new facility, ABC Parramatta provides a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up. It will be a home for innovation and collaboration, designed and equipped to help us better serve Australians, now and into the future.”

I am campaigning to have Richard Glover do his first show in the new building in his Elvis costume, because we all now know he packed it!
