Much loved radio veteran Eoin “Cammo” Cameron has been laid to rest in Perth.

His career spanned 47 years, before he retired from ABC 720 earlier this year.

The former breakfast host said his decision to retire was one he didn’t make lightly, but he had struggled to overcome severe spinal injuries from a car accident in 2013.

Eoin died last month from a suspected heart attack while on a holiday in Albany.

The Team at Perth's ABC 720 are putting in a gallant effort for this year's Dry July, already raising $4605 making it one of the top teams for the fundraiser.

Leading the effort is Drive presenter John McGlue, who has raised $1,100. In a blog entry, McGlue explained that he is participating in memory of a good friend who he lost to cancer:

'I am thrilled to be an Ambassador for Dry July and Cancer Council WA.

720 ABC Mornings host Geoff Hutchison will host the ANZAC dawn memorial service at King's Park Perth this year where up to 50 000 people are expected to turn out to commemorate our fallen soldiers in the larget event of its kind, anywhere.  

Families and young people are expected to turn out in the tens of thousands to join veterans and their relatives on their regular pre-dawn pilgrimage. Only 10 500 are allowed into Anzac Commemorative site at Galipoli.

While stations bicker over who's number one AM or FM, the undisputed number one dog in Perth, in fact, Australia, is Taj. 

Also known as Taj the psycho spaniel, he works on 720 ABC's Breakfast with his two-legged off-sider, Eoin Cameron. 

As the showbiz saying goes, never work with kids or animals and Eoin never misses an opportunity to defame the animal lest he takes over as best in show.
