To mark the musical The Lion King making its debut in Brisbane, 97.3FM Brisbane renamed themselves Lion King FM for the day.
 
The cast of the musical made an appearance on Robin, Terry and Bob’s breakfast show, performing the song “Circle of Life” as the mane event.
 
The stunt was a commercial success, with the hype creating a spike in ticket sales that saw the ticketing website QPAC crash due to an influx of demand.
  
“The reaction to 97.3’s coverage of The Lion King this morning was phenomenal,” said Breakfast co-host Robin Bailey.
 
The cast of The Lion King picked up social media attention this week for their flash-mob performance of “Circle of Life” on a domestic flight.
