The Group Content Director for Grant Broadcasters, Ryan Rathbone, has announced some key appointments to strengthen the content and operations structure for the company’s Victorian and South Australian Radio stations.
The current Regional Content Director for Victoria, Mark Hyland, will now assume overall responsibility for all 15 Radio stations across Victoria and South Australia as well as maintaining his content leadership position with both K Rock 95.5 and Bay 93.9 in Geelong.

Dzelde duo says goodbye to 5MU and Power FM

Chris Dzelde and Mel Dzelde have resigned from Grant Broadcasters stations 5MU and Power FM in South Australia.
The husband and wife duo announced the news on social media on Tuesday 15 September after spending four months on leave in order for Mel to fight stage 4 rectal cancer.

Ian Wright is heading to Happy FM

Barry Martin retires to spend time with wife Roxy after receiving devestating news

Murray Bridge radio announcer, 5mu’s Barry Martin, has announced his retirement after receiving devastating health news.

Barry was diagnosed last year with mouth and jaw cancer and endured several surgeries, a lengthy stay in hospital and daily radiology treatments, but he's now been told the cancer has spread to his neck and chest and is inoperable.

Barry has thanked his listeners for their well-wishes and says he wants to spend time with his wife, Roxy and visiting family and friends around Australia.

Perth radio legend Barry Martin facing health issues

Perth radio icon Barry Martin will go into hospital next week for a cancer-related operation on his jaw.

"It is treatable... you've gotta be a glass half full fella," he told Steve and Baz when they called him for a health update this morning.

Explaining the problem he said:

"I have dentures and I was having pain in my bottom jaw gum and went to the dentist. He sent me to a surgeon who said 'If it's spread to your body you've got 9-12 months - if it hasn't we can operate...'

5MU looks to move to FM

Listeners of the commercial radio station 5MU in Murray Bridge, Mount Barker and Victor Harbor may soon be retuning their radios if the ACMA accepts a proposal by the station to swap from AM to FM transmission.
