Allen Brandt passed away on the weekend, just shy of his 100th birthday.
An intensely private man, Allen headed the Colour Radio Network and, along with Sir Frank Moore and Sir William Allen, was responsible for turning Ipswich regional station 4IP into an incredibly successful Brisbane Metro Station.

Radio 10 resurrected in Queensland

The old Radio Ten callsign, later changed to Stereo 10, has been resurrected in Queensland by a group of enthusiasts.

Stereo 10 on 1008 AM was a former Brisbane AM Radio Station with a Top 40 Music format from 1985 until 1988.

The station's studios were located on Coronation Drive, Auchenflower, Brisbane and were officially opened by Boy George & Culture Club on July 1st, 1984.

Vale Col 'The Coach' Thompson

'The Coach,' Col Thompson has passed away.

Col worked at 4IP, 4BK, 4BH in sales and promotions and as a footy commentator on radio and on tv.

He was also station manager of 4BH and co-founder of the Brisbane RATS club.

Col played league for Graceville and was the club's first Brisbane representative player in the 1950's.

He was a commentator for Channel 9 and 4IP and also managed Brisbane band 'The Dwellers.'
