Joy McKean will be the 2021 recipient of the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music.
The country music trailblazer found a talent for writing songs as a young child, and has had a stellar career as a performer, songwriter and manager, spanning more than 70 years.
Joy created a lifelong partnership with her husband Slim Dusty, writing many of his most famous songs and was his manager for more than 50 years.

Paul Gallen and Shane Flanagan join Nine Radio’s Rugby League Coverage for 2021

Rugby League greats Paul Gallen and Shane Flanagan will join The Continuous Call Team on News Talk 2GB and 4BC from March 13.
Entering its 35th year on air, Gallen will be joining the team fortnightly on Saturday afternoons as well as co-hosting 2GB’s Wide World of Sports each Tuesday night, while Flanagan will be part of the commentary team each Saturday night throughout the season.

The top radio advertisers by spend in Breakfast: AirCheck

After tallying the top spenders in Breakfast from AirCheck Ad Revenue estimates, the Victorian Government took out the top spot with their ‘Stay Safe, Stay Open’ Campaign.

Approximately $446,000 was spent placing a mix of 15 and 30 second spots across 48 stations in 10 markets nationwide.

The most commercials in this push were placed on Nova and smooth in Melbourne, with 72 and 61 spots respectively between 6am and 9am.

Spencer Howson joins 4BC

Former top rating ABC Brisbane weekday breakfast presenter Spencer Howson will return to the Brisbane airwaves in 2021 on 4BC.

He will host weekend breakfast, beginning towards the end of January.

Howson is the latest addition to an expanding lineup of local programming and presenters as 4BC "brings Queenslanders the stories that matter and news they can trust."

The Two Murray's are back

Two of Australia’s favourite broadcasters are returning to radio with Murray Wilton and Murray Olds (aka The Two Murrays) set to deliver five hours of news, sport, entertainment, lifestyle and plenty of frivolity over summer weekends on 2GB and 4BC.
Their new show launches this Saturday, October 31, and continues on weekends right through until the start of the NRL season in March 2021.
The Two Murrays will go to air Saturday and Sundays 2pm–7pm on 2GB and 1pm-6pm on 4BC.
