3RPH $80 000 Appeal

3RPH (Radio for the Print handicapped) has begun an appeal, trying to raise funds to keep its vital service on the air.

The target this year is $80 000.

On Sunday afternoon, Artie Stevens launched the appeal and was joined on air by veteran DJ, Gary Mac, Channel Ten news’ anchor, Mal Walden, 3MP’s Jane Holmes and newsman, Peter
Acfield
, plus other special guests.

According to Stevens, there was plenty of talk about radio/TV nostalgia and occasional ‘bouts of silliness’.

3RPH, which can be found at 1179 on the AM dial, has been serving about 80 000 sight impaired listeners in Melbourne since 1982, with readings of newspapers, magazines and books.
