Neil Mitchell addresses 'fake news' in radio rating reporting

3AW’s Neil Mitchell has addressed what he has referred to as “fake news” after the Age inadvertently published last year’s Survey 1 results.
Mitchell says that in the first survey for 2021, “…3AW put in its best first survey ratings performance in 14 years.

“Others would have you believe that FM radio is the powerhouse, it’s not. 3AW is.”

Radio stations blocked from Facebook

Facebook has carried out its threat to remove news posts from its platform in response to the Australian Government's mandatory bargaining code for digital media giants.

In a Facboook post William Easton, Managing Director, Facebook Australia & New Zealand said:

Ross and Russel still command the biggest numbers in breakfast for a single market despite a drop of 73,000 listeners for the last survey of the year.
Kyle & Jackie O have closed the gap but remain in second place with Bogart Torelli & Glenn Daniel further back.
Ben Fordham has improved his numbers, up by 18,000 to 463,000
The biggest improvers were Fifi Fev & Byron up by 85,000.

Ross and Russel reign supreme: Cumes Survey 7

3AW’s Ross & Russel consolidated their position at the top of the national breakfast shows with an increase of 79,000 listeners in Survey 7.
Kyle & Jackie O from KIIS Sydney are still 2nd with 585,000 listeners followed by Sammy J from ABC Radio Melbourne.

Matt James has been appointed Managing Director of Nine Melbourne

Senior global media agency executive Matt James is returning to Nine as Managing Director – Nine Melbourne.
James has recently returned from London where he was global CEO of leading media agency network Zenith Media. Before that he held senior media roles as Australian CEO of Publicis Media and CEO of Zenith Australia.
