Last year, when it became clear that Kyle and Jackie O were leaving SCA to join ARN, the radio pundits wondered whether the Sydney market could support three stations all targeting under 40’s.

Jules steals ZM's cat chat segment, Mel B joining UK X Factor

On 2Day FM's Jules, Merrick and Sophie with Mel B breakfast show this morning, Jules was shocked to find out he actually didn't invent his beloved 'Cat Chat' segment.
It turns out that the Fletch, Vaughan and Megan show on New Zealand's ZM has been doing a similar segment called Cat News since 2008, long before Jules kicked his off in 2011.

2Day FM newsreader Geoff Field returned to the breakfast newsreading booth today, filling in on that shift with a new on air team.

Trying not to remember or comment on his time with Kyle and Jackie in that studio, he told the current breakfast team Merrick, Jules, Sophie and Mel B that he did not want to talk about past "unpleasant experiences."

"I've had some bad experiences in this booth many years ago…a lifetime ago," he said.

Unexpected twist for 2Day's $50,000 winner

2Day's $50,000 winner, Cassie, was strung along right to the end of her prize presentation, by breakfast crew Merrick, Jules, Sophie and Mel B.

Cassie was led to believe that she was one of a dozen potential winners until the moment her prize was revealed live on air.

Australia's biggest showbiz wanker named on 2Day

Australian filmmaker and creator of Bogan Hunters, Paul Fenech, named Richard Wilkins the “biggest wanker” in the industry on 2Day FM's Jules, Merrick and Sophie with Mel B breakfast show. 
Fenech also went on to give Sophie Monk a test to determine whether she’s a bogan. She passed with flying colours – bogan first class.

With a disclaimer that he may be biased, Bruce reckons the Triple M Hot Breakfast takes the top spot when it comes to breafast radio at the moment.

Actress Emma Stone was brought to tears by 2Day FM’s Jules, Merrick and Sophie with Mel B during an interview.

The star couldn’t help but get emotional when she was introduced to one of her idols – Scary Spice.

Stone, who is a massive Spice Girls fan, was so excited to talk to Mel B that she was lost for words and literally started crying tears of happiness, before singing Spice Girls’ hit Wannabe with help from Sophie Monk.

Former number one FM breakfast presenter on 2Day, Wendy Harmer, points the finger of blame at Southern Cross Media Chairman Max Moore-Wilton and the board of directors for letting the network’s chief money maker go to the opposition.

Writing in the Telegraph, Ms Harmer put the value of the blunder at $100 million.

Big jump for KIIS expected

Today back in court over ACMA royal prank investigation

Today FM is spending yet another day in court today, appealing the most recent decision by the Federal Court to allow the ACMA to continue its investigation on the 'Royal Prank' incident.

So far, the ACMA and Australian Federal Police have been investigating whether Today FM breached any criminal legislation (and thus licence conditions), by broadcasting the infamous audio of former Hot 30 Countdown hosts Mel Greig and Michael Christian imitating the Queen in order to receive information on a pregnant Kate Middleton.
