In advance of today's UK Inquest, Jacintha Saldahna's family spokesperson has issued a statement.

UK member of parliament Keith Vaz said:

“It has been a long road for the family and I deeply admire the patience, humility and dignity they have shown throughout this traumatic time. It is right that they finally gain closure.”

Announcers will not appear at UK Coroner's Inquest

A statement released in London by the City of Westminster Coroners Court says nine witnesses will give evidence at the inquest into the death of Jacintha Saldanha later this week.

The names of witnesses will not be announced in advance, but the statement did confirm that "the two Australian DJs will not be giving evidence."

Date set for UK nurse inquest

The UK Inquest into 2Day's tragic nurse prank call will take place at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on September 11 and 12.

A coroner will decide what part the prank call played in Jacintha Saldanha's death. 

The nurse left three handwritten notes in her living quarters close to King Edward VII’s Hospital in London, where she died in December 2012.  One of the notes said:

ACMA will appeal to High Court in nurse case

The ACMA has been given approval to appeal to the High Court in the 'royal prank call' case.

In March this year, the federal court upheld 2Day’s argument that the ACMA did not have the authority to rule on whether 2Day had broken the law by broadcasting a prank call to the Duchess of Cambridge in December 2012.

The ruling was part of a legal battle aimed at surpressing the ACMA's investigation report on the case.

Lily Allen to sing at 2Day FM Breakfast party

Lily Allen is set to sing the alley down for 2Day FM Breakfast, with Sophie Monk and Merrick Watts primed to host Lily’s Laneway Party, which will take place at The Standard Bowl in Surry Hills on Saturday 26th July.

In a Brooklyn Bowl inspired setting, the uber cool event will feature a performance by the English singer-songwriter - who will be backed up by a full live band - together with celebrity guests.

Jules steals ZM's cat chat segment, Mel B joining UK X Factor

On 2Day FM's Jules, Merrick and Sophie with Mel B breakfast show this morning, Jules was shocked to find out he actually didn't invent his beloved 'Cat Chat' segment.
It turns out that the Fletch, Vaughan and Megan show on New Zealand's ZM has been doing a similar segment called Cat News since 2008, long before Jules kicked his off in 2011.

2Day FM newsreader Geoff Field returned to the breakfast newsreading booth today, filling in on that shift with a new on air team.

Trying not to remember or comment on his time with Kyle and Jackie in that studio, he told the current breakfast team Merrick, Jules, Sophie and Mel B that he did not want to talk about past "unpleasant experiences."

"I've had some bad experiences in this booth many years ago…a lifetime ago," he said.
