It's hot right now: New Hit 104.1 TV commercial

"An all new sound for Sydney, with only the hottest hits," is what's promised by the new TVC for Hit 104.1 2Day FM.

The new dual callsign is a mouthful, eventually the network will change it.

Meanwhile, in the transition phase, the new TVC focuses on the Hit logo, colours and branding, saving any mention of '2Day' until the last frame.

Preparing for the return of the their main breakfast stars next week, 2Day Sydney and Fox Melbourne have reskinned their websites with the Hit imagery developed first at SCA's Adelaide station.

The Fox and 2Day sites now bear the green and red livery of the Hit Brand.

In a week that's been filled with rumour and gossip about who is and isn't going to be on the Today Network next year, stand up comedian and former Triple J presenter Tom Ballard set tongues wagging yesterday when he announced on his twitter account:

Excited to announce I'll be presenting the Tindr Top 50 Countdown on 2DAYFM in 2015.
 

But it's not true. It was a joke.

When SCA’s Head of Content, Craig Bruce (CB) booked a call to radioinfo this afternoon, our money was on him announcing that Brisbane’s B105 would be rebranded hit105. “I love how, in this industry, rumours so quickly turn into fact,” says CB. “We’re nowhere near talking about a rebrand of Brisbane yet.”

Not that he would reveal anything before he was ready to, but everything that’s happened at the network over the past few weeks seems to point towards a rebrand in Brisbane and then… Sydney.

Southern Cross Austereo has today addressed rumours of a 2Day FM sale, saying the company is not planning to cut the station lose, despite disappointing results following the departure of Kyle & Jackie O to the Australian Radio Network.

SCA says it will instead rebrand the station, part of a major restructure of the entire radio network, including Adelaide's coveted SAFM.

To help lift the profile of the already popular festival to celebrate the cultural heart of Sydney, 2Day FM and Sydney Fringe Festival have partnered in an effort to connect new audiences to the events which will feature thousands of local and interstate artists.

The partnership will see co-host of the Today Network’s national drive show Dan and Maz, Dan Debuf, come on board as one of the ambassadors for the Sydney Fringe Festival.
