Double J and Coles Radio at the top, 2CH drops: DAB+

Double J has just edged out Coles Radio nationally in the latest results for DAB+ stations.
MMM Classic Rock and the ABC Jazz stations have also performed well, while in Sydney 2CH shed almost 40% of its audience.

Edge Digital and Double J are tied at the top in Sydney, leading ABC Jazz and KIIS 90’s, in Melbourne GOLD 80’s leads Coles Radio from OLDSKOOL 90s HITS.

2CH is at the top of the DAB ladder in Sydney

Double J has jumped to the top of the DAB+ stations nationally for the final survey of 2020, just in front of Coles Radio.
The performance of 2CH DAB+ as Sydney’s top DAB+ station, while noteworthy, still means a loss of audience, down from 270,000 in the last survey to 101,000.

Last Saturday Bob Roger’s broadcast his final show saying farewell to his thousands of loyal listeners, but due to an unprecedent reaction Classic Hits 2CH has scheduled an encore performance of Reminiscing this Saturday October 10th at 6pm.
Since the announcement of his final show the tributes have flowed from around Australia and the globe.

Mick Raisin has decided to retire from radio and at 68 years of age is transitioning into retirement, effective November 20th.
Mick finishes his radio career at 7HOFM after 4 decades in the media, beginning when Ron Camplin at 2BS Bathurst gave him his first break as a copywriter in 1980, and he says it was a position “… for which I am eternally grateful. Ron and Janet Cameron have been 2 Broadcasters who I greatly admire!”

2CH goes to DAB+ only as AM1170 moves to sport in Sydney

2CH will ditch it's AM music feed and become a DAB+ only station, as SEN launches 1170 SEN in Sydney later this year.

Pacific Star bought 2CH from EON in June, acquiring both the AM and DAB+ frequencies.

Blair Joscelyne travelled to Goulburn to reminisce about his dad Chris at 2GN

Following the passing of Chris Joscelyne (formerly with 2CH, 2GN and more), his son Blair Joscelyne decided to return to one of the towns where his father worked.

During the 80's, Chris was the manager of 2GN in Goulburn, NSW and Blair recently dropped by Radio Goulburn Pty. Ltd. to reminisce.
He was able to reminisce about his father with Chris' former colleagues with current receptionist Lynda Hallam and current 2GN News reader Michael Prevedello.

SENTrack on the move to 1593 AM in Melbourne

SENTrack Melbourne has moved all of their chasing, pacing and racing action onto their new home of 1593 AM in Melbourne.
The move is part of a number of changes to the AM band around Melbourne which saw the Ace Radio Network buy 1377 AM, and Rete Italia moved from 1593AM to DAB+, while Pacific Star picked up 2CH in Sydney.
Rete Italia’s 1539AM in Sydney is also expected to move onto DAB+.
