Tim Shaw is making a strong pitch to return to the breakfast slot at 2CC Canberra following the retirement of Alan Jones at the end of the week.

Cath Eades passed away late last week in Perth, after battling health issues in the last few years.
Cath’s radio career included stints at 8DN, 7BU, 2CC and 2CA. She also worked at CTC 7 and Capital Ten Canberra as a presenter, producer, writer and studio director.


Jones has an effect on Survey 3 in Canberra

The Jones effect on 2CC has been minimal but positive in the latest GFK Canberra Survey with the station gaining 1.5 overall and 0.5 in breakfast.

Alan Jones replaced Tim Shaw in mid July and the Ray Hadley Morning Show was extended to run from 9am to midday.

Most gains on 2CC have been in the 55+ demographics and the biggest gain during the day was in mornings, up 3.9 to 9.0.

2CC and 2CA move into new studios

Radiothon raises thousands in Canberra

The annual 2CC Radiothon for Ronald McDonald House Canberra raised a total that well exceeded all expectations.

By 6pm yesterday the Radiothon raised $43 838.45 in cash and services for the house at the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.

Listeners, local identities, businesses and the ACT Government donated generously in just over 12 hours in a busy day of fundraising.

Survey 3 in Canberra a tie

Survey 3 results for Canberra have been released this morning and snap...

Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3 are equal number one All People 10+ with a 15.9 share.

ABC 666 was third with 14.5%.

Worth noting is 2CC's -2.5% from a 7.6 share to 5.1.

It was tight in Breakfast with Mix 106.3 lifting 2.1% to take number FM commercial with 14%. Hit 104.7 narrowly behind on 13.5%.

Overall the ABC was the big winner in that day part with a 20.6 share.

Marcus Paul resigns from 2CC

Marcus Paul has made a sudden exit from 2CC after four years with the station.

The Canberra drive show host left the station this morning and while he hasn't given any reason for his resignation, he did offer to stay on to see out the current survey period but was reportedly asked to leave.

He denied an interview with Maria Hawthorne, the former political staffer at the centre of the Joy Burch affair was to blame.
