Last week, very few people inside 2BS knew that today John Laws would be heard on air at 9am.

This morning, a brief news item about the sale of 2BS and B rock was aired just before the network morning show at 9am, then the Laws theme music began. Instead of regular presenter Ray Hadley, listeners heard John Laws.

He started as an office boy at 2CH as a 15-year-old, and this year will mark 70 years in radio.

When the then young lad walked through the doors of the AWA building in York Street he was applying for what would be his 17th job…that young man was Ron Camplin

Ron has given his life to an industry that he loves and throughout this month 2BS and B-Rock FM are celebrating his achievements.

2BS studio dedicated to former engineer

The new studio at 2BS / B-Rock in Bathurst has been dedicated in memory of former Engineer, Bob Upfold.

Bob started his broadcasting career with 2BS (his only employer) at the age of 15 and after 50 years he retired at the end of 2001.

Bob saw many technological advances during his career; from 78 records and wire recorders, to tape and cartridge machines, LP and 45 records to CD Jukebox’s and computer based program delivery systems.

Kerry Peck retires from Bathurst Broadcasters

Kerry 'Pecky' Peck has been given a large farewell at the studios of Bathurst Broadcasters after he decided to hang up the headphones permanently.

He was the voice of Bathurst for 30 plus years, working at 2BS in the early 70's before returning from 2LF Young in 1980.

Pecky hosted the Monday to Friday breakfast programs through to 2011 when he had an immune system problem with his liver, which almost cost his life.

2BS Bathurst announcer Ardin Beech says he will honour a bet he made with local member, Andrew Gee, to play AC/DC music in exchange for a parliamentary mention.

Yesterday we broke the news that the Member for Orange used his parliamentary address to congratulation 1503 2BS Gold on their recent ACRAs success. He then added:
