Hobart radio announcer resigns

Monday 07 November, 2016

Hobart Breakfast Announcer Anna Dare has resigned.

Anna, one-half of the breakfast duo alongside Mick Newell on 7HO FM, recently commented as the pair solicited for their Secret Sound segment “…that it sounded like someone stuck in a conveyor belt at a theme park".

The comment was made just days after four people lost their lives on the Dreamworld Rapids Ride on the Gold Coast.

The radio announcer who took on Eddie McGuire

Thursday 04 August, 2016
Put this in your diary particularly if you think you might need a loan.

101.7 7HOFM's Kevin "Johnno" Johnson will make his debut on Nine's Millionaire Hot Seat with Eddie McGuire on Thursday August 25th.

Unlike Kyle and Jackie O, Johnno's wage in Hobart is unlikely to be a number preceding six zeroes, so why not hit the game show circuit to beef up the coffers.

However, Matt Newell has left his media career behind for a job in real estate.

"It was an incredibly hard decision. I loved the fun environment that is a radio station, but I didn't feel like I was getting enough out of the role as a day announcer. I've always had aspirations to work fo myself and moving into real estate is helping me achieve that."
