About the role Our team are seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer to work with great people. We are looking for a team player whose ambition is to add value to our clients, audience and staff as well as someone who wants to work for a team that has an innovative and customer-focused mindset. In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of IT and will be responsible for providing support to our local and national offices. This is an opportunity for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to develop skills across a wide and talented network across the media industry. Your Manager will provide you with the support and guidance you need to develop your skills in the role and you will be part of a collaborative team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following tasks: • Monitor and Maintain current server and network environment • Monitor and Maintain group-wide backups • Monitor and maintain antivirus and windows updates • Monitor and Maintain SAN environment • Monitor and Maintain Hyper-V environment • Deploy new virtual servers • Deploy new WAN services • Escalation for local technology teams • Take part in reasonable on-call schedule What we are looking for: We are looking for someone with the energy and enthusiasm to embrace our audience and promptly attend to the needs of our most valuable assets – our listeners, clients and staff. The successful candidate will bring to this position the following attributes and experience: • 5 years of demonstrable experience in high-level broadcast operation or other 24x7 operation • Suitable engineering or IT qualification, bachelor’s degree preferred but other equivalent qualifications will be considered • Previous experience working with the following hardware technologies in a production environment; Dell Servers, Dell SAN, Cisco Switches/Router, Mikrotik • Previous experience working with the following software technologies in a production environment; Microsoft server 2012/2016, Active Directory, Exchange 2010, SQL 2012, Linux, Hyper-V, System Center, Veeam Backup, VMWare Vcenter, PRTG (or similar alerting system) • Previous experience working with the following network protocols in a production environment; BGP, OSPF, VLAN, PPTP, PPPoE, VTP, DHCP.
