Journalist / Newsreader (Full time and Weekend Casual) Geelong Broadcasters Part of the Grant Broadcasters Radio Network, Geelong Broadcasters has established itself as an integral part of the community and culture, delivering a consistent approach to radio in a sensational part of Victoria. K rock and bay 93.9 are on the lookout for experienced full time and casual journalist/newsreaders to join our outstanding team of dedicated, hungry news pros. You'll be working in our new, state-of-the-art Geelong newsroom, with the beach at your front door and just a stone's throw from Melbourne. Here's what you'll need to score yourself a place in one of Australia's best radio news teams: • A solid, contemporary reading style • A minimum of two years’ experience in commercial radio news • The ability to work as part of a close-knit, highly skilled team and also hold down a super-busy solo shift • A passion for news and the ability to cover a broad range of news topics, from local to global, with an emphasis on localism. • The ability to work regular weekends • An understanding of online news and its importance in a commercial radio environment • The ability to work quickly and calmly, even when the pressure's on A knowledge of NewsBoss would be an advantage.
