Executive Producer – Early Learning Programmes

Location: Sydney
Contract: 12 month fixed term maternity leave contract
Salary: $80-90K

This is an exciting chance to lead the development and delivery of Early Learning Programming at Australia’s most popular national radio station for children and their families – Kinderling Kids Radio.

About the Role
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced audio producer who can lead the development, production and delivery of Kinderling’s ground-breaking  Early Learning Programmes.

A role for a sharp and efficient multitasker, you will:

Deliver Play & Learn (no direct reports)

  • Co-design, and then produce, a new season of Play & Learn with Kinderling’s early learning partner pedagogy team;  
  • Identify and commission relevant new content;
  • Manage, and provide editorial guidance to, third party content providers;
  • Ensure overall programme design meets the Early Years Learning Framework;
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships including Kinderling’s early learning partner and content providers;
  • Deliver the programme into early learning centre environments;
  • Re-package programmes for online, app and podcast platforms;
  • Lead the content promotion and marketing strategy to ensure programme success;
  • Deliver Play & Learn programme within allocated budgets;

    Oversee production of Together Time and Qantas programmes (one direct report);

  • Provide editorial and audio production guidance to producers and on-air talent;
  • Ensure editorial decision making is guided by set programme objectives;
  • Manage key staff to meet production deadlines;
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships;
  • Ensure all relevant reporting is accurately recorded and submitted on time.

Core skills and experience required
You are an experienced audio producer with exceptional editorial judgement and a highly developed audio sensibility. You are an assertive communicator with strong interpersonal skills and can effectively lead teams and projects with confidence.

You also possess:
• 3+ years’ experience in radio production;
• advanced skills in creative script writing, audio recording, and audio editing;
• proficiency in audio editing software such as Pro Tools, or equivalent;
• proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet key objectives within different projects;
• a keen understanding of children’s programming and how to effectively communicate to the 0-6 target audience;
• an awareness and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework;
• the ability to handle more than one assignment at a time; ability to prioritise, anticipate and communicate effectively;
• demonstrated ability to work as part of a collegial and high-energy team.
