Program Coordinator – Digital Radio Project – Sydney (NSW)


Ready to dive into a role in radio that you can sink your teeth into? 
Are you good at juggling tasks and interested in independent community media and broadcasting?  
Perhaps you’ve been involved with a community radio station or want to support the development of community broadcasting services? 
Use your skills and initiative in communications, planning, organising and administration to develop community DAB+ digital radio services in a key role with the CBAA Digital Radio Project (DRP).  

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is an innovative, forward-thinking not-for-profit organisation that champions community radio by building stations’ capability and by creating a healthy environment for the sector to thrive. 

The Digital Radio Project is among our largest government funded initiatives to date. Digital radio sits alongside AM and FM (analogue) as an alternative radio transmission platform, and the project provides infrastructure and support at a national level to community radio stations operating digital radio services.  

As the peak national body for a dynamic and diverse community broadcasting sector, the CBAA is in a great location in Alexandria near Redfern station, with a dedicated and hard-working team. The position is full-time with scope for some flexibility in hours for the right candidate. 

Who we need

We need someone who is an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, high-level organisational skills and developed writing skills are essential attributes.Ideally, the job requires someone who thrives in an ever-changing environment and can be adaptable and flexible. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high quality support to community radio stations across Australia. This is an intermediate role and previous experience in broadcasting or broadcast infrastructure operations would be a bonus. 

The Role

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who can act confidently liaising with a high number of stakeholders as the digital radio project prepares for a busy year in 2019. They need to be comfortable managing multiple tasks, so outstanding organisational and communication skills will be required. The role works closely with the DRP Manager, Technical Consultant, the DRP team and other CBAA staff to support and engage with community radio stations operating digital radio services. The role requires a broad understanding of all areas of project activities and will provide project administration, liaise with stations operating digital radio services, and contribute to the profiling and expansion of community digital radio and service development.
