2RRR Station Manager

2RRR Station Manager 2RRR is one of 460 community radio stations in Australia. 2RRR is proud of being a diverse, eclectic and inclusive station celebrating our 35th Anniversary this year. 2RRR is a small station governed by a voluntary Board of 7 Directors and staffed by 2 part-time staff members, the Station Manager and the Content, Youth and Ethnic Coordinator. 2RRR broadcasts over 70 programs with over 80 volunteers. Our license area is Ryde/Hunter’s Hill but our transmission extends far beyond this and, additionally, our programs are streamed across the globe. Our Youth Jukebox program is broadcast every weekday by presenters aged 14-21 years old. Our 12 Ethnic/Specialty programs reflect 9 languages spoken in our broader community. 2RRR’s well-regarded Radio Training Course (RTC) is held twice a year to encourage new presenters and programs. We are seeking a multi-skilled and enthusiastic person with a positive, proactive attitude, excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities to join 2RRR as Station Manager. This is currently a 3-day a week position, involving both daily management and administration tasks, and forward planning. Experience in community radio, or the ability and willingness to learn this complex sector quickly, will be highly regarded. The successful applicant will be adaptable to cope with the many day-to-day challenges of a community radio station including working with a broad range of stakeholders. The ability to work with minimal supervision, within a small not-for-profit organisation, including understanding of the legislative, financial and technical frameworks that 2RRR works within is also required.
