About the role
Based in Sydney at Pyrmont, we are seeking a Technical Operations Coordinator to join 2GB and the Talking Lifestyle network.  In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Technology and supporting Sydney’s #1 radio station.
Working closely with the Head of Technology, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with show producers and talent to manage and coordinate effective and timely use  of the broadcast facility
  • Create and manage an active calendar of events, edit schedules and contribute to the smooth day to day running of the studios facilities
  • Provide administrative support and excellent communications through all stages of the day to ensure each broadcast happens with the minimum of fuss including ongoing training of staff and rostering of panel operators
  • Manage all resources, both internal and external, including liaising with external media organizations when required.
  • Creating and publishing of training manuals to keep existing staff current and documentation, training and recruiting of new panel operators.
  • Reporting regularly to the Head of Technology on the state of play, on a multiple times per day basis, regarding the status of the facility.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and traits:

  • Highly organized mindset, with great attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a Radio or Television broadcast environment
  • Self-starter and high level of initiative
  • Ability to communicate directly with on air staff and producers and talk the talk with engineering staff when sorting out studio issues
  • Strong organizational, administrative and broadcast I.T skills are a must have
  • Demonstrated skills in training, organizational skills and documentation
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple event at one time.
  • Expert level knowledge of all technologies in a digital radio station
  • The ability to thrive in a challenging environment
  • Highly motivated attitude, with pride and high quality workmanship, working well within a team or individually with the desire to super serve at all times
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies to streamline day to day operations

This is a full time role and from time to time requires flexibility in working hours due to studio schedules.
